The design project was a joint effort between scotthillDesign and the Uphill Marketing Group. The client came to us to create and build their logo, full branding and web experience for their new Yacht charter Walk’n on Sunshine. The brand and website needed to capture the feeling of the Caribbean, while providing details for the 48’ Dufour Cervetti Catamaran, available destinations and private Crewed Charter yacht vacation. In addition to the charter rates and availability.

Walk’n on Sunshine is a PRIVATE crewed yacht charter that offers the freedom to visit your choice of picturesque locations in the US and British Virgin Islands. They offer several itineraries that take you to a new destination each day, allowing you to experience the Virgin Islands. The captain and chef will help keep you safe and well fed.

The Vision

The new visual design and brand is evocative, authentic, and clear, and the voice captures Walk’n on Sunshine’s devotion to providing first-class accommodations, fresh and local cuisine, and access to picturesque locations throughout the US and British Virgin Islands.

My Role

As the Creative Lead, Designer and Information Architect I worked with Uphill Marketing Group and the client to gather requirements and understand the overall vision, objectives and business needs for the new Walk’n on Sunshine brand and online experience. With this information I created a workflow and sitemap and translated that into a user experience strategy and framework for the new website. I utilized the brands color palette and created a solid grid system to design layouts to communicate the relation between the Yacht and services they offer to their clients. Combined with photography of Walk’n on Sunshine and different locations around the Caribbean islands.

The website experience was accomplished through the use of creative solutions, strategic planning and execution of the business requirements and objectives within the design and development of the Walk’n on Sunshine website and new brand.

Our final creative design solutions for the Walk’n on Sunshine brand and website creates a cohesive identity for the Yacht and website that stands out as a great option for travelers looking for a private Yacht charter in the Caribbean. We successfully accomplish all aspects of the Identity and Brand for Walk’n on Sunshine which has created a engaging user experience for the website’s users. The end result is a unified brand experience and web presence that is smart, approachable, and attractive to potential travelers.

Project Objectives

Neale Lundgren PhD needed a complete website redesign to help promote his new book and provided updated content for his current and prospective clients. We needed to refine Neale’s brand, color palette and design to implement a website built with the latest technology to ensure it is up-to-date with the current styles and trends in design. The website required clear presentation of the new book with links to purchase from various online sellers. In addition to other content related to his other writings, music and mentoring opportunities.

Brand Update – Website Re-Design – Development Solutions

Neale Lundgren PhD, is a therapist, a former Benedictine monk, a poet, and a musician. He has taught at St. John’s University, Emory University, and Pacifica Graduate Institute. As a teacher, he uses the conversation of presence, reflective reading, meditation, and transformational energy work to help put students in touch with their soul and the sacred in the midst of the world.

The Vision

For the website redesign we needed to consolidate the decades of content Neale has created over the years into a user friendly and easily accessible design. The two main categories of content are organized under the sections for READ and LISTEN. As Neale has written many articles, books, papers and thesis we created an interactive interface to display and link to his many writings. We also created a section to highlight Neale’s different podcasts and lectures into a design that is clear and easily accessible for the website users.

Neale also has decades of music recorded from the 1960’s through 2004. We created a page to highlight his music ranging from Alternative Folk, World Fusion, Contemporary Folk, Folk Rock, Jazz, and Pop music. The page clearly displays a variety of CDs and recorded music with an interface that allows users to sample and download songs from different CDs. We also created links to purchase songs from Apple Music and the online iTunes Store.

Branding

In essence, Neale is an artist, fascinated with seeing the divine in all things. Throughout his life, he has been compelled to document the path of the soul through time. It is through time and our journey upon earth that we experience the lessons that ultimately lead us to higher realms of love and awareness.

My Role

I worked with Neale to understand his vision, the overall objectives and business needs to finalize the website content and create the overall information architecture for the new design. As the Information Architect, Creative Designer and Developer I created the navigational flow of the information and overall organization of the functional structure. I utilized different elements from Neale’s new book cover design, elements from his writings and related photography to create a clean and minimal design. By using the new color palette from his branding in combination with simple graphics and photos I was able to clearly communicate Neale’s services, collateral and knowledge as a mentor to create a successful website design.

By using the latest technology and design skills I implemented Neale’s vision into a functional and interactive website to help promote his new book and organize his years of content and writings. We accomplished this with Neale’s website with custom photography used to create custom designed art and samples of his extensive collection of history, writings, music, art and Psycho-Spiritual Approach to Mentoring.

As the overall project Lead, Designer and Developer I managed the design and development of all graphics for the website and branding solutions to ensure consistency throughout. I organized the project budgets, deadlines, etc. to make sure they are complete, accurate and follow the project plan and objectives. We successfully integrated the digital brand for Neale’s website and focused on creating the best experience possible for the target audience.

The Grant Academy is a private school that specializes in the education of elementary age students with learning and cognitive disabilities, ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s autism, and other disabilities. The Grant Academy came to us to create and build a full branding and web experience that captured their unique approach to optimize learning for all types of students. The new visual design and brand must help them to stand out from other private S.T.E.M. schools into a league of their own, while communicating the benefits and affordability of their style of education and learning.

The overall experience of the website symbolizes The Grant Academy’s modern approach to special education. We implemented clear interactions with clean design elements, bold graphics and custom photography, which aligns with the quality of courses provided by The Grant Academy and their educators.

Collateral & Photography

The Grant Academy required visual identity collateral for their teachers and for general use within the school. The brand collateral needs to do be much more than just be pretty, it must communicate their services and create a positive message to the parents of potential students. The design must convey their message in a clear and distinguishable way across all collateral. The media used to support the message should have consistent color, style, and visual assets across all channels and further The Grant Academy’s mission. We also designed the school signage and a marketing brochure to clearly communicate The Grant Academy’s purpose and abilities as a Private Elementary S.T.E.M. School that can be trusted with their students education. The new brand image was also applied to cups and pens for use at the school.

We incorporated custom photography of the school classroom environment and building architecture, paired with stock photos for use in the website design and marketing collateral. The final results enhance The Grant Academy Brand message for aesthetic benefit and storytelling.

We needed to create a brand experience that communicated their strong ties to the IT industry while conveying their message of a reliable and professional IT Solutions provider for small and large corporate companies.

They are a solutions provider for reselling hardware, software and business solutions for all types of businesses. Data Fusion holds contracts, wins new deals, manages project plans, budgeting, resources and is a licensed hardware and software products solutions reseller.

Your Brand is the mental picture of who you as a company represents to consumers, it’s influenced by the elements, words, and creativity that surround it. Your Brand serves as a guide to understanding the purpose of the business objectives. It enables you to align a marketing plan with those objectives and fulfill the overarching strategy. Without a brand, the business doesn’t have an identified purpose, without a purpose how can you stand out from among your competition?

Project Objectives

Knowles Learning Specialists (KLS) required a complete identity and branding including creation of the company logo and website. The KLS digital branding and design needed to represent their knowledge and experience with special needs education and skills to teach children who learn differently and struggle daily with academics. The KLS process and resources to achieve these goals must be documented clearly so the parents will be comfortable and can rely on Knowles Learning Specialists to teach and mentor their children no matter what their learning disabilities may be.

The mission of Knowles Learning Specialists is to build bridges enabling students who learn differently to incorporate new skills that lead to success as they continue their education.

The Vision

We developed the brand strategy for Knowles Learning Specialists by identifying the core components of their business that was used as a blueprint to develop the design and marketing strategy. We identified their purpose in teaching students new skills that lead to success, a consistent color palette and style, and a logo with emotional impact that helps customers connect with the KLS Brand.

Branding

Knowles Learning Specialists utilizes many different materials and resources including Orton-Gillingham methodology, Handwriting Without Tears, and numerous other materials that help in the remediation of learning disabilities.

My Role

I worked closely with the client to understand their business objectives, brainstorm ideas and help document the best possible solution for the Knowles Learning Specialists branding and website. As the Creative Lead and Information Architect I created the website structure, content flow, page layouts and design by utilizing the latest interactive technologies including HTML5, CSS3 and WordPress Shortcodes to create a user-centered design focused on the key services offered by Knowles Learning Specialists. I provided the client with all final print documents and logos in various formats for use in marketing the KLS brand and business. My attention to detail helped to ensure the best quality work on all areas of the project and allowed me to create high quality work products and deliverables which resulted in the successful design and implementation of the Knowles Learning Specialists brand and website.

It was essential that we highlight the KLS approach and services in the new website design. This was accomplished by designing a custom interactive layout for the Services page, while making it clear and user friendly. With the combination of photography and interesting text treatments we designed and created custom graphics and custom HTML & CSS to display the KLS Services.

We created a brand system that captured the Knowles Learning Specialists approach to teaching and the end results is bold and engaging. We defined the site architecture, produced a visual sitemap and translated all into a visual design based on the principles of design that is functional and appealing for the KLS users. The new brand and website honors their commitment to the teaching, with an easy-to-navigate design that is more interactive and engaging while creating a thoughtful online experience.

Sue Ann Gonis specializes in coaching organizations as well as individuals on a personal and professional level. Sue Ann’s passion and expertise encompasses executive coaching, leadership and organizational development, building high-performance teams, on-boarding, career management, and individual coaching. Sue Ann also facilitates workshops on these topics and serves as a keynote speaker. Sue Ann has spent 20+ years as a corporate executive, eight of which were with two Fortune 100 technology companies to direct a corporate culture change initiative for 16,000 associates in 32 countries.

Sue Ann Gonis required a complete identity and branding including creation of the company logo, identity collateral and website. The challenge was to create a brand experience that communicated her approachability, while exhibiting Sue Ann’s trustworthy  professional process and background in executive leadership coaching, team development and career transition coaching. Sue Ann is also an expert with Individual 1-on-1 Coaching on navigating life’s personal and professional challenges.

The navigation is a vital component of the user experience that allows you to orient yourself with the website layout and to move around easily. We created a navigation that stands out against the clean background and organized page layouts that is easy to read and interact with. The key part of the picture when it comes to user experience is the content provided to the consumer. It was important that the content has a purpose and clearly defines Sue Ann’s business goals as a brand.

My Role

I worked with the client team to understand the overall objectives and business needs, finalize the website content and create the overall information architecture for the website. I created the digital brand and identity collateral with the design of the company logo, color palette and consistent style. This was carried throughout the website design and development in the mindful creation of the content structure, navigational flow and layout of all pages. I designed and implemented the visual and functional structure of the website with the use of WordPress CMS and creative use of HTML5 and CSS3. I was able to successfully accomplish all aspects of the new Brand and Identity for Sue Ann Gonis which has provide a return on her investment.

We also designed a detailed bio page to include Sue Ann’s Philosophy on coaching, life lessons, inspirational quotes and a detailed list of Certifications, Education, Memberships, Affiliations and Experience. In addition, the new website needed a Resources page for her clients to access forms, related articles and videos for motivation. We created custom designs for the different forms and articles where the new digital brand for was applied.

Identity Collateral

We collaborated with Sue Ann to design a visual identity and collateral across a broad spectrum of digital and traditional media. Creating a consistent style across your collateral is critical to building a brand identity that allows your customers to instantly recognize your company and distinguish it from others. We accomplished this for Sue Ann by developing a brand strategy that communicates her professional experience in a clean and simple design with a consistent color palette, flexible enough to work in both print and digital, in different sizes, and in relation to different marketing elements carried throughout her logo collateral and website.

Our goal was to communicate precisely what Sue Ann offers with the design of her new brand and website. We created a brand that reflects Sue Ann’s knowledge and experience with a consistent form and function that supports her clients needs as an individual, team, or organization. The overall experience of the website emulates Sue Ann’s modern approach to coaching and aligns with her business needs and goals. The website needed to be professional and designed with the corporate and IT culture in mind. We used a strong color palette combined with a sharp and crisp design, utilizing a lite background for the content to stand out clearly to the users. With the use of customs designed imagery for the homepage and throughout the website we clearly communicated the DFS services, capabilities and business goals.

Grid Utility is a proud provider of energy solutions with a management team that boasts over 100 years of combined electric utility experience. They came to us to create a new brand experience that represents their years in the electrical power industry while clearly communicating their extensive knowledge in Electrical Distribution – Aerial and Underground, Broadband / Fiber Optic – Aerial and Underground, and Emergency / Disaster Response.

Grid Utility required a complete branding and identity including creation of the company logo, stationary, business cards, marketing collateral and website. The digital brand strategy to be carried throughout the brand and user experience needed to reflect their services and knowledge as a leader in the power management industry. The new brand identity will be repeatedly communicated in multiple ways with frequency and consistency throughout the life of the business.

My Role

I worked with the client team to understand the overall objectives and business needs for the creation of their Identity and Branding with the design of the company logo and color palette. Working together with the clients we finalize the website content used to create the overall information architecture for the website. This was carried throughout the design and development in the mindful creation of the content structure, navigational flow and layout of all pages. I designed and implemented the visual and functional structure of the website with the use of WordPress CMS and creative use of HTML5 and CSS3. I successfully accomplish all aspects of the Identity and Brand for Grid Utility which has provide a return on her investment.

Grid Utility is an independent power contractor who is changing the way you design, manage, maintain and operate your utility infrastructure. We design custom graphics that clearly communicates Grid Utility as leaders in the Electrical Distribution, Broadband Fiber Optic and Emergency Disaster Response industry.

Grid Utility also provides rapid recovery efforts following emergency and storm related outage situations and is a proud member of the Power Delivery Alliance, a small business association specifically designed to assist utilities in emergency power restoration situations. It was vital that their unique capabilities and services for the emergency response system was clearly designed and easy to understand for the clients.

Collateral

Creating a consistent style across your collateral is critical to building a brand identity that allows your customers to instantly recognize your company and distinguish it from others. For Grid Utility we created a collateral system that aligns with the business objectives creating a unified identity, consistent color palette, style, and visual assets applied across all media. The Grid Utility collateral included business cards, letterhead, envelope, truck signage and marketing ads to run in the industry standard advertisements online and traditional print media.

Our final creative design solutions for the Grid Utility brand, website and marketing collateral creates a cohesive identity system that makes Grid Utility stand out in their specialized industry. The brand identity connects product recognition for Grid Utility as a trusted partner to build relationships, manage and maintain the operation of your power utility system, and deliver true customer satisfaction.

The website content and design must be clear with easy to understand navigation, graphics, photos and functionality, while covering Traverse’s turnkey Management Services’ process and documenting their specific services to Support, Restructure and Maximize Your Business to streamline operations and improve performance.

The Vision

Traverse has a separate division of the company that focuses specifically on winning business. They engage prospective clients and analyze their current state of business to show what services Traverse can provide to help get them on the right track. The Traverse Financial Consulting group are specialist in reviewing a clients business to see if there specialized services in restructuring turnaround for financial and tax assistance can be applied in the current state of the prospective client’s business.

I worked with the client to gather information, brainstorm ideas and understand the overall objectives and business needs for Traverse. I applied this information to the design of the Traverse brand which is carried throughout the company logo, website and marketing collateral. As the Information Architect and Creative Designer I created the navigational flow of the information and overall organization of the functional structure. I ensured the brand and design of the website reflects the feel of their customized services used to maximize clients business opportunity and performance, while carrying the overall design and style throughout the related marketing materials. By understanding the clients requirements I was able to effectively apply them to the brand design and website which provided Traverse with successful business engagements and clients.

Traverse’s extensive professional experience providing restructuring, interim management and transaction support needed to be displayed on the new website in a manner that was engaging yet informative. We utilized a simple grid design to showcase the variety of clients and experience Traverse has worked with over the past decade. The use of engaging photography and clear messaging successfully display their extensive background as a trusted financial consulting firm who helps companies in a variety of different industries with proven results.

Your collateral is a vital and integral component of your marketing campaign and requires thought and planning. Traverse needed collateral to support it’s marketing message to consumers with the creation of Sales Decks and print brochures. We designed consumer-oriented collateral with an emotional appeal that communicates Traverse’s unique and rewarding user experience gained from their years of combined experience, providing the highest quality advice, service and support to underperforming organizations. The design of each of the Traverse collateral supports and echoes the benefits and marketing message of Proven Results with a Direct Impact to the Bottom Line.

We successfully updated the Traverse LLC digital brand and created a new online presence that clearly communicates their commitment to the client experience, with easy-to-navigate actions, informative content that does not overwhelm the reader. We also utilized graphics and custom photography with aesthetic benefit and storytelling of their extensive experience and services.
