Writer and author ML Childs needed a new website design to promote her books (The Vital Sacrifice & The Missing Link), and to help promote her services as an author, copywriter, screenwriter, blogger, and historian. This was accomplished with the design and development of a new clean and modern website with a thoughtful design and user experience. The website required new and updated content that’s clear and easy to explore. We also needed to highlight M.L. Childs multiple writing services and knowledge as a historical writer.

Website Design – Development – Graphic Design – Marketing

The Vision

Creating a successful design is about communicating the services and products offered while providing a compelling user experience, not just providing an aesthetically attractive site. This was accomplished with the successful implementation of the website content by creating a site navigation that highlights M.L. Childs extensive knowledge and skills of writing books, blogging, copywriting, screenwriting, and education in history research.

The design and user experience of the new website was created with the use of a basic grid system and clean page designs applied with a minimal color palette to highlight the site content and not be distracting to users. The design and user experience symbolizes M.L. Childs approach to writing content for various clients for use on blog articles, and copy for websites and social media.

M.L. Childs Latest Books

Marketing ads for each book were designed for use on the website and other online areas including social media and various websites. The ads were designed to promote M.L. Childs books throughout the year at specific target dates. Ads were designed in a variety of sizes to help promote the two books. I ensured all marketing materials have a cohesive and consistent look and voice to represent each book.

My Role

I worked with the client to gather information, brainstorm ideas and understand the overall objectives and business needs for her website. I created a solution with the design and development of effective navigation, information and graphics through sound design principles, strategic planning and execution of the business requirements and objectives.

As the Information Architect, Designer and Developer I created the navigational flow of the information and overall organization of the website structure. Designed and coded the page layouts and designs with HTML, CSS and WordPress Shortcodes. While creating a visual interesting design that is easy to use and provides clients with a complete overview of M.L. Childs skills and body of work.

Custom graphics were designed and created to highlight different features and enhance the overall website design. Then use of these custom designs in combination with the clean pages designs help to enhance the overall site experience.

I also redesigned the logo for Latrodectus Entertainment, LLC, the parent company and publisher for her books and tv/movie scripts. The logo was designed based on the existing logo. The overall design was simplified so the company name and design was clear and readable.

We successfully designed and created a new online presence for M.L. Childs that clearly communicates her commitment to the client experience, with easy-to-navigate actions, informative content that does not overwhelm the reader. We also utilized photography and custom graphics with aesthetic benefit and storytelling of her extensive experience and services as an author, copywriter, screenwriter, blogger, and historian. I ensured a cohesive look and consistent graphic style was implemented across all designs.

Eyewitness Animations is dedicated to bringing “State of the Art” Graphic and Animation technology to the legal and engineering communities. Their primary service has been the reconstruction of crime scenes and accidents through the use of computer generated 3D graphics and animation. They specialize in reconstruction of aviation, railroad, maritime, and vehicular accidents. In addition to Industrial / Architectural Reconstructions. They required a professionally designed Sales Deck that was simple, bold and engaging to clearly define their unique services.

The Vision

Eyewitness Animations mission is to provide the highest quality Forensic Animations so more cases will be won and elicit far better settlement offers. Forensic Animation has the unique ability to bring a clarity to, and an understanding of an event unlike any other medium with the possible exception of an actual eyewitness video. It can vicariously take a jury to the scene of the event as it unfolds, effectively making them the eyewitnesses.

My Role

I worked with an Eyewitness Animations consultant during an in-depth strategy process meeting to analyze and understand the dynamics of the company and the services we needed to document and design for the Sales Deck project. We needed to clearly display who they are, their mission, extensive experience and proven success with Graphic and Animation technology. Eyewitness Animations was one of the original founders of this branch of forensic sciences and is responsible for the development of many of the techniques and processes used today in courts around the world. I incorporated the Eyewitness Animations brand to the design of the document and ensured the design felt relatable and inclusive, and to embrace boldness through design elements that tell the story of their technological advancement, thought leadership, and a passion for the producing forensic graphics and animations. I provide examples of the demonstrative exhibits created which covers the various services provided by Eyewitness Animations. In addition to providing client testimonials and case awards from their 24 year history.

We successfully designed the new Executive Sales Deck for Eyewitness Animations through strategic planning and execution of the business requirements and objectives. I ensured a cohesive design and consistent graphic style was implemented to represent and demonstrate the capabilities and quality of work the company provides with their unique Graphic and Animation services.

Project Objectives

Green Earth Developers (GED) came to us to create and build a full branding and identity solution for their solar project development services company that provides designs, finances and constructs solar power projects for their customers. GED serves solar energy, commercial, and utility customers throughout North America and the Caribbean. We needed to create a brand experience that communicated their strong ties to the Construction and Engineering industries while not feeling to corporate, cold or overly complicated and without sacrificing quality.

A brand is the combination of properties within and outside a company which gives an identity to the generic product or services it represents. Your brand has it’s own unique characteristics like name, logo, image, perception, etc, and that is what makes the brand identifiable and differentiable from others in the market.

My Role

As the Creative Lead and Designer I developed the branding guidelines, color palette, type treatments, logo and designed all identity collateral. When designing a new brand identity it’s essential you create a consistent style across your collateral that allows customers to instantly recognize the company and distinguish it from others. By working with the client to understand the overall objectives and business needs I ensured the GED brand identity supports the sales and marketing of their product and services, while keeping aligned with the brands core values.

The new brand experience captures GED’s essence as providers of renewable energy solutions with a clean, bold and modern design.
Through the use of sound design principles, strategic planning and execution of the business requirements and objectives we successfully designed and created the Green Earth Developers brand system which resulted in a satisfied client.

MailPix introduced a new service to allow anyone in the USA, Canada, UK and Germany to easily upload photos from any device and print a variety of optional medium including standard prints, custom banners, posters, wall decor, canvas prints, photo books, greeting cars, etc. MailPix needed a professionally designed Sales Deck to help promote their new services to a variety of customers.

Photos can be picked up same day or mailed directly to you for your convenience.

My Role

I worked with a MailPix consultant to understand the overall objectives and business needs to build the new Sales Deck. We brainstormed ideas based on the required retail and financial information, and how to convey the competitive advantage MailPix can provide consumers. I utilized the MailPix brand, color palette and type treatments as a base to build the design to clearly demonstrate their mission to make it easy to upload, share, archive and print your photos. I ensured the design has a cohesive and consistent look and voice to represent the MailPix corporate image and clearly communicate their marketing, growth and advertising strategy.

Through the use of sound design principles, strategic planning and execution of the business requirements and objectives we successfully designed and created the MailPix Executive Sales Deck which resulted in a satisfied client.
