About This Project

FishDB is a home aquarium hobby tool/resource. Our goal is to depict the information that typically one would find in this type of environment and we understand that under certain circumstances individual results may vary. If you need “out on the reef” data, there are plenty of reliable resources suited better for that information.


Project Objectives

fishDB required a complete company branding including creation of the company brand, logo and website. The digital brand identity for the fishDB reflects their knowledge and passion for fresh and saltwater fish and aquariums. The overall brand and web experience needed to be simple, yet creative to clearly define the easy to use, robust, in-depth, flexible learning environment that has everything the aquarist may need.


The Vision

The approach to the fishDB brand is to reflect the business goals to provide their users with valuable information for learning how to build and maintain their own aquariums. At FishDB, the goal is simple, spend more time finding information and less time searching for it. fishDB wanted to build an easy to use, robust, in-depth, flexible learning environment that has everything the aquarist may need.


My Role

I worked directly with the client to gather information, brainstorm ideas and understand the overall fishDB objectives and business needs. I applied this information to the design of the fishDB brand for the company logo and website. As the Creative Lead I ensured the brand and design of the website reflected the feel of the business and services they provide to their users. I provided the client with the site graphics and logos in various formats for use in marketing the fishDB brand and business. My attention to detail helped to ensure the best quality work on all areas of the project and allowed me to create high quality work products and deliverables which resulted in the successful design and application of the fishDB brand. My understanding of the client requirements and ability to apply them to the company branding and manage creative solutions resulted in a satisfied client.


Responsibility Overview

Creation of Company Branding, Logo and website.


Designed all graphics for the website including the following:

  • OverOverall website information flow & structure
  • Design the creative vision into graphical screen designs and all graphical interface elements


– Manage the design and development of all graphics for the website and branding solutions to ensure consistency throughout all collateral.

– Ensure budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate and follow the project plan and objectives.

– Facilitate creative reviews for client approval.

– Demonstrate proven success with integrating the company brand and website.
